Using the Directory

This Register is split into villages and their immediate environs. Brief descriptions of each village can be found at the top of each page. In each village or region, all entries are split in 6 categories: Serviced Accommodation, Non-Serviced Accommodation, Food and Drinks, Shops, Visitor Services and Visitor Attractions.

Please use the island outline above on the map to select a village. When responding to advertisements it is important to mention The Isle of Arran Tourism Directory as this helps the proprietors of any business with their marketing.

Information regarding establishments, their facilities, services, tariffs and general appearance has been supplied by the management or owners of the establishments to which the details pertain. Where mentioned, the grading or «star-rating» of properties refers to property owners who have chosen to take out an optional membership with a tourist board or other independent travel publication. As mentioned, memberships of these schemes are not compulsory and non-rated properties often match or exceed the rating requirements of member properties.

We strongly recommend, however, that adequate provisions are made to ensure that prospective visitors are satisfied that their chosen holiday accommodation is suitable in all respects. This guide is intended as an introduction to such businesses and further information, such as brochures and web sites are usually available from the businesses themselves – such details should be requested before booking.

The producers of «The Isle of Arran Tourism Directory» are not a booking agency and cannot be held responsible for the information received by advertisers. We are happy, however, to take enquiries regarding the location of various properties, general enquiries about types of property and any specific information regarding the island, food, transportation, weather, and so on. Please use our electronic letter pigeons. Their nest is towards the bottom of the navigation panel...
